Sheila Jackson Lee earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Yale University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School. Jackson Lee began her political career as a municipal judge in Houston, Texas, from 1987 to 1990, then served as a city council member for Houston from 1990 to 1994. She entered Congress on January 4, 1995.
